Safina can be called a pioneer of the “pop opera” genre, where pop music, soul and musicals are combined with academic vocals. He began his collaboration with Italian composer Romano Muzumarra in the mid-1990s. Together they recorded the single "La sete di vivere" and the album "Insieme a te", which Safina presented at the famous Olympia theater in Paris.
