Description
Till Lindemann's name is familiar to fans of heavy and industrial music. Frontman Rammstein, a solo artist, poet and actor, turned a rock concert into a large — scale theatrical event and became one of the most recognizable figures on the world stage.Lindemann was born on January 4, 1963 in Leipzig, in the territory of the then GDR. His father was a poet, which influenced the creative development of the future musician. Before joining music, Till was a professional swimmer and a member of the GDR junior national team. However, it was music that became his vocation.
The Rammstein Group, founded in 1994, made Lindemann a global star. Eight studio albums — from "Herzeleid" and "Sehnsucht" to "Mutter", "Reise, Reise" and "Zeit" — have brought the band international recognition. Such compositions as "Du Hast", "Sonne", "Engel", "Ich Will", "Mein Herz brennt" and "Amerika" have become classics of the genre.
In parallel with the main group, Lindemann conducts active solo activities. Together with Peter Tagtgren, he recorded two albums for the Lindemann project. In 2023, the solo album "Zunge" was released, and in 2024-2025, a series of singles and the album "Zunge 2025" (Zunge 2025). The Meine Welt tour took place in dozens of cities around the world, from Leipzig and London to Sydney and Almaty.
Lindemann is the author of two poetry collections and an actor. He speaks German, speaks English and knows Russian. His live performances are large — scale shows in which music is intertwined with pyrotechnics, special effects and provocative performances.
