Justin Timberlake is a household name thanks to his chart-topping hits, memorable SNL skits, and impressive acting career. Everything I Thought It Was, which is the subject of the star's current tour, is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake, released on March 15, 2024. It is a sequel to Timberlake's previous work, 2018's Man of the Woods. It features the track "Paradise", in which Timberlake reunited with his fellow NSYNC members, with whom he began his music career. Jacey Shaze, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick all reunited for the recording, and then joined Justin on stage at Timberlake's concert in Los Angeles on March 13, 2024. Earlier, in September 2023, Timberlake reunited with NSYNC on the single "Better Place," which was included in the soundtrack to Timberlake's animated comedy about Trolls, in which Justin voiced one of the characters and wrote music for the release.
Many noted that Justin Timberlake's "Everything I Thought It Was" is partly a return to dance music, but in a new format. The album consists of tracks that you can dance to and "headbang" at the star's concerts. For example, to the bright and dynamic single "Fuckin' Up The Disco", which is very similar in spirit to another Timberlake track "Let the Groove Get In".
