Prices for holidays in Turkey are rising due to the dollar, but hotels are reducing the cost, says the Russian Union of Tourism Industry.

According to the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), the cost of a week-long vacation in Turkey for two on an all-inclusive basis this season will be 220-250 thousand rubles. This is the average check, which has increased due to the growth of the dollar. However, PCT vice-president Dmitry Gorin noted that many Turkish hotels began to reduce prices by 10-15%. For the specified cost, tourists can comfortably relax in four- and five-star hotels.

Prices are also affected by airfare. If last year a ticket to Turkey cost an average of 20 thousand rubles, now its cost is 40-50 thousand rubles. However, according to Gorin, tourists can count on direct flights from 21 cities in Russia and five cities in Turkey. 12 Russian and five Turkish airlines are involved in the transportation of passengers.

Despite the increase in prices, Türkiye remains the leading destination for Russian tourists. Last year, more than 5.2 million Russian tourists visited this country, which is 13% more than in 2021. However, the number of visitors has still not reached pre-pandemic levels, when almost 7 million Russian citizens visited Turkey in 2019. According to Gorin's forecasts, at least 5 million Russian tourists will arrive in Turkey this year. One of the main advantages of visiting Turkey is direct flights and the possibility of saving on food.
